Myers Young Cooper (25 November 1873-6 December 1958) was the Republican Governor of Ohio from 14 January 1929 to 12 January 1931, succeeding Vic Donahey and preceding George White.

Biography[]

Myers Young Cooper was born in St. Louisville, Ohio in 1873, and he joined his brothers in a real-estate and homebuilding business in Cincinnati in 1893. He came to be involved int he lumber, building supplies, and banking industries, and he served as Governor from 1929 to 1931 as a Republican. Cooper's tepid response to the Great Depression resulted in his re-electoin defeat, and he died in Cincinnati in 1958.
