Mydon

Mydon was a priest of Asclepius working at the Sanctuary of Asclepius in Argolis, Greece during the 5th century BC.

Biography[]

Mydon was born in Epidaurus, Argolis, Greece, and he became a priest of Asclepius at the Sanctuary of Asclepius. In 446 BC, he received a dirty and distraught Spartan mother and her badly injured baby, but he believed that the baby would not survive, and he had to break the sad news to the baby's mother. The woman cried, held the baby in her arms, sang to him, and then left both the baby and his towel at the sanctuary, hoping that the gods would be merciful. However, the priestess Chrysis took the baby into her care, cured it, and raised it into a strong warrior without empathy, and she cut out Mydon's tongue to ensure that he could never tell anyone about the Spartan baby again. In 431 BC, the baby's long-lost sister Kassandra arrived at the Epidaurus Guesthouse in search of answers from the mute Mydon, interrupting him as he kissed his servant Marika Gianopoulou. She then interrogated both of them, with Marika telling the story as Mydon nodded or used body language to confirm the events. Kassandra discovered that Chrysis was a member of the Cult of Kosmos, and she decided that she needed to die.
