Murong Fuyun

Murong Fuyun (597-635) was the Khan of the Tuyuhun from 597 to 635, succeeding Murong Shifu and preceding Murong Shun.

Biography[]

Murong Fuyun was the son of Murong Kualu, and he belonged to a family of Tengri Khitans. In 597, his older brother Murong Shifu was assassinated, and Fuyun was acclaimed Khan. He had major conflicts with the Sui dynasty and the Tang dynasty during his reign, and in 635, during a Tang invasion, he was assassinated due to popular support for his rival, Emperor Taizong of Tang.
