Murchadh MacNobaill (97 BC-35 BC) was a chief of the Iceni.
Biography[]
Murchadh MacNobaill was born in 97 BC in the Iceni tribe, and he became one of their chieftains. He led the tribe in Scotland, and in 55 BC he fought against the Roman Republic when they invaded. Murchadh took command of an army of Iceni at the Battle of Tillicoultry, where he fought against Messenio Ticinius' Roman legion and defeated them despite having fewer men. This victory halted the Roman advance north, and Murchadh was hailed as a great warrior.
