Munif Harroun (14 August 1952 – 2 October 1999) was a Hezbollah field commander during the Lebanese Civil War.
Biography[]
Munif Harroun was born on 14 August 1952 in Aabbassiye, South Lebanon, Lebanon to a Shia Muslim family. Harroun joined the Amal Movement during the Lebanese Civil War, and he later joined Hezbollah during the war against the Israeli occupying forces. Harroun rose to command Hezbollah forces in South Lebanon in the conflict with Israeli occupation forces in the 1990s, and he was killed in an Israeli Air Force airstrike on 2 October 1999.
