Biography[]

Muneyori Takayama was born in 1518, a retainer of the Oda clan of Owari Province (present-day Japan). Muneyori was loyal to daimyo Nobuhide Oda during the divide of the clan in 1545 and he was made Commissioner for Warfare, commanding the army of the Oda clan. Takayama led the suppression of a rebellion by Tametomo Oda at the battle of Nagoya, crushing his forces before retreating to the capital in order to replenish his army.
