Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahab ibn Suliman at-tammimi (1115-1206AH) was aMuslim preacher and scholar from Ahlus sunnah wal jamaah, fromNejd. who is said by some the creator of "Wahhabism", though no such sect or cult exists; rather the name Al Wahab is a name of Allah عزَّوجَلََّّ.
He was a man who called for Quran and sunnah, and following the way of the salaf the first three greatest generations of Muslims. As per the authentic hadith of the prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) as per reported by Abdullah ibn Mas’ud: the prophet (ﷺ) said, “The best people are those of my generation, then those who come after them, then those who come after them. Then, there will come people after them whose testimony precedes their oaths and their oaths precede their testimony.”

Early years[]
Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahab ibn Suliman at-tammimi was born in 1703-1704 in Nejd (present-day Saudi Arabia) to a Muslim family. Muhammad was born into the Family of Musharraf of the tribe of Tameem. Since the Tenth Hijri Century, this family was known for its religious scholars and leaders. Ibn Abdul-Wahhab studied Hanbali fiqh with his father. In addition, he used to study books of tafseer (Quranic commentary) and hadith, as well as books on tawheed (Islamic monotheism). He was known both to have a good memory as well as being quick in transcribing. Even having memorised the holy Quran at 10 years of age.
Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahab ibn Suliman at-tammimi was scholar preacher, who came at the time where shirk and bidah had become very prevelent as people had started associating others in worship with Allah عزَّوجَلََّّ. He helped in efforts reintroducing tawheed (Tawheed means believing in Allah Alone as God and Lord and attributing to Him Alone all the attributes of Lordship and divinity) Tawhid is divided into three categories; namely, Tawhid al-Rububiyyah (Oneness of Divine Lordship), Tawhid al-Uluhiyyah (Oneness of Divinity) and Tawheed al-Asma wa’l-Sifat (Oneness of the Divine Names and Attributes).
Muhammed ibn Abdul Wahab ibn suliman worked with prince Muhammad bin Saud of the Emirate of Diriyah, aiding the spread of islam in the Arabian peninsula.
He died in 1792 at the age of 91.
