The Mr. Fuk's Rice Box shootout occurred in the spring of 2008 when Niko Bellic gunned down dozens of North Korean Mafia gangsters at the Mr. Fuk's Rice Box restaurant in Fort Lee, New Jersey, before murdering their boss Kim Young-guk. Bellic was sent to kill Kim by American Mafia boss Jon Gravelli, who discovered that the North Korean criminals were printing counterfeit dollar bills ("superdollars"), an operation that could ruin the US economy. Bellic shot his way upstairs to meet the manager, Pu Jung-woo, who told him that Kim was fleeing to his car. Bellic exited the restaurant and found Kim, and he gunned Kim down before he could escape in his blue luxury sedan. The shootout severely weakened the Korean Mob and its counterfeiting operation.
