The Movimiento Libertad is a democratic socialist political movement in the Republic of Yara, founded by Clara Garcia in response to Anton Castillo's election to the presidency in 2019. Libertad's stated aim was to bring peace and free elections to Yara after Garcia reestablished his father Gabriel Castillo's far-right regime in power, but Castillo slandered Libertad as "communists" and "terrorists" due to their alliance with the Castroist Legends of 67 movement and anarchist revolutionary groups. Libertad included a diverse array of ideologies and members, varying from democratic socialists like Garcia to grassroots gay rights activists and conservative (and formerly Castillo-supporting) farmers like the Familia Montero. The Yaran Revolution of 2021 resulted in the deaths of both Garcia and Castillo, but Libertad assumed control over the country and battled remnants of Castillo's Fuerzas Nacionales de Defensa (FND).
