Motaz Zahran was the Egyptian Ambassador to the United States during the 2020s. Born in Cairo, he specialized in international security and disarmament and served as a diplomat to India from 2001 to 2005, as a political counselor at the Egyptian embassy in Washington DC from 2007 to 2011, and as Ambassador to the United States from 2020, succeeding Yasser Reda.
