Mose Harper was an American settler and deputized Texas Ranger who lived in West Texas during the Wild West era. The feeble-minded Harper joined Captain Samuel Johnston Clayton's 14-man company in 1868 after the Comanche stole Lars Jorgensen's cattle, and he initially theorized that it was a Caddo or Kiowa raid. While Harper was not liked much by his peers due to his simple mind, he would go on to help Ethan Edwards track his niece Debbie Edwards down to the New Mexico Territory in 1873 and then to the Seven Fingers of the Brazos in Texas.
