Biography[]
Morris Tolliver served as a US Navy physician, rising to the rank of Captain. He became the temporary replacement for the Physician to the President under President Josiah Bartlet, and President Bartlet took a liking to Tolliver, whom he decided to make his full-time physician. Before he could take up this position, however, he was killed alongside 57 other military healthcare workers when their plane was shot down over Tartus, Syria as they headed to a medical school in Amman, Jordan. His death occurred ten days after the birth of his daughter, Cory, and, three days later, an enraged President Bartlet authorized airstrikes on Syria in response to the shootdown.
