Biography[]
Morgan Treglone was born in Newquay, Cornwall, England in 1682, and he became an employee of the Royal African Company. Treglone served as captain of the slave ship Royal African Pearl, whose crew dressed in Spanish uniforms and flew the Spanish flag to conceal themselves from the Spanish Navy. On 23 November 1718, his ship was assaulted by the pirate ships Jackdaw and Ranger off Isla Providencia, and Treglone was captured. He told Edward Kenway that the slave ship Princess sailed out of Kingston, Jamaica every few months, and Charles Vane shot Treglone with a pistol when Treglone demanded compensation for the damage done to his ship.
