Monte Puncu is a mountainous province of Bolivia, with Chaca Barraca serving as its capital. Located within the Yungas mountain zone, Monte Puncu is covered by a very dense jungle, and roads are known to be narrow, steep and dangerous, including the Yungas Road (nicknamed the "Death Road"). Human activity is focused on coca and coffee culture, with Chaca Barraca cultivating coffee before the arrival of the Santa Blanca Cartel. The cartel persuaded the cocaleros to work for the cartel, proposing to buy their product at a fair price. Most coffee plantation owners agreed to switch to growing coca, while those who refused fled to La Paz or joined Kataris 26; their farms were burned by the cartel. While lacking a buchon to oversee it, Monte Puncu was the province that produced the biggest amount of coca for the cartel.
