Moncada drug lab raid

The Moncada drug lab raid occurred in 1992 when the Search Bloc raided the largest of the late Medellin Cartel member Gerardo Moncada's drug labs in Colombia. Colonel Horacio Carrillo commanded the raid in person, and they killed a few cartel members in a shootout before taking several other ones prisoner, including Pablo Escobar's sicario "Gato". The raid on the drug lab was one of many raids against Escobar's factories across Medellin in 1992, and the Search Bloc wiped out scores of sicarios. However, they had negative publicity due to Valeria Velez's interview with a boy named David whose friend was executed by Colonel Carrillo because he spied for Escobar.
