Mola Ram in 1935.

Mola Ram (1883-1935) was an Indian High Priest and the leader of the revived Thuggee cult in the early 20th century.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Born in 1883. Mola Ram was the son of a Thuggee priest who had survived the British attempt to eradicate the cult, Mola Ram emigrated from Bengal to Benares in search of three Sankara Stones. With two already in his possession, Ram believed all five would empower the Thuggee to destroy their British persecutors and establish his goddess Kali Ma's reign on Earth (according to legend).

New Thugghee Cult[]

In Benares, he found a powerful ally in Chattar Lal, the Prime Minister. Ram poisoned Benares' ruler, Maharajah Premjit Singh in 1930 and with Lal's help, subdued the heir: Premjit's young son, Zalim. Mola Ram kidnapped and enslaved the children of Mayapore , a village near the Palace.

1935 & Death[]

In 1935, American archeologist Henry Jones Jr. arrived Benares after an airplane accident in the Himalayas. Jones and his two companions, Willie Scott, an American female singer and Wan Li, an orphan Chinese child, who discovered the truth about the Palace. Jones rescued the enslaved children and fought Mola Ram in a rope bridge. Ram tried to finish Jones, but he failed and fell off the cliff into a river full of alligators, who consumed him
