
Mokhtar Farnana was a general of Libya who sided with Khalifa Heftar's Tobruk-based government during the Second Libyan Civil War.
Biography[]
Mokhtar Farnana was a general of Libya after the Libyan Revolution of 2011, and he was one of the secularists who supported Khalifa Heftar's rebellion "Operation Dignity" against the New General National Congress in 2014. On 18 May 2014, Heftar and Farnana launched an attack on the Parliament of Libya, and on 21 May Heftar called on the parliament to hand over power to the top judges of the country.
