
Mohsen Rezaee (born 9 September 1954) was a commander of the IRGC (1981-1997) during the Iran-Iraq War, playing a major role in the commanding of the Iranian Army.
Biography[]
Rezaee was born in Masjed Soleyman in Khuzestan Province, Iran, in 1954. He led the cultural struggle against the Shah's regime in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and took part in the 1979 Iranian Revolution. In 1981 he became the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' Corps, during the Iran-Iraq War, playing a major role in the command of the Iranian Army. In 1997 he left the guards and in 2009 he became third-in-line to become President of Iran, with a 1.7% backing.
