Mohammed Mogouchkov (2003-) was a Chechen-born French Islamist terrorist who, on 13 October 2023, fatally stabbed a teacher at his former high school in Arras in response to Hamas' calls for a "Day of Jihad" in response to Israel's war on Gaza.
Biography[]
Mohammed Mogouchkov was born in Chechnya, Russia in 2003, and he and his family moved to France in 2008. Mogouchkov attended the Gambetta-Carnot high school in Arras, and he became bilingual in French and Russian, with a limited professional understanding of English. He became known to the French police for his Islamist views, and, on 13 October 2023, he revisited his high school and fatally stabbed a French-language teacher at the school's car park before injuring another teacher and a security guard. He was confronted by other school staff before being arrested by the police.
