Mohammed Jabarah (born 21 December 1981) was an al-Qaeda and Jemaah Islamiyah member.

Biography[]

Mohammed Jabarah was born on 21 December 1981 in Kuwait City, Kuwait. In 1994, he moved to Canada at the age of 12, and he wanted to become an eye doctor; his father opened a gas station. He was accepted into Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, but he decided not to attend college, and he met Sulaiman Abu Ghaith while visiting family back in Kuwait. Anas al-Kandari introduced him to al-Qaeda, and in 2000 he attended a training camp in Afghanistan. He met Riduan Isamuddin and collaborated with Jemaah Islamiyah on many attacks; he was later arrested in Oman, and he was turned over to the United States, who imprisoned him in Guantanamo Bay.
