Mohammad Sidique Khan

Mohammad Sidique Khan (20 October 1974 – 7 July 2005) was a member of al-Qaeda who carried out the 7/7 bombings in the United Kingdom.

Biography[]

Mohammad Sidique Khan was born on 20 October 1974 in Leeds, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom to a family of Sunni Muslim Pakistanis. In 1999 he met the radical cleric Abdullah el-Faisal, and he met Shehzad Tanweer and Hasib Hussain at the Hamara Youth Access Point (HYAP), where he worked. Khan was angry at the United Kingdom for fighting against Muslims across the world, and he became the leader of a plot to launch bomb attacks in London. Along with Tanweer, Hussain, and Germaine Lindsay, Khan carried out the 7/7 bombings of 7 July 2005, blowing himself up on the Edgware Road train and killing 5 people.
