Mohammad Fahim Dashty

Mohammad Fahim Dashty (died 5 September 2021) was an Afghan journalist, politician, and leader of the National Resistance Front during the Panjshir conflict.

Biography[]

Mohammad Fahim Dashty was the nephew of Afghan politician Abdullah Abdullah, and he survived the suicide bombing which killed Ahmad Shah Massoud in 2001. After the 2001 American invasion of Afghanistan, he became a journalist and a media freedom activist. Following the Fall of Kabul in 2021, he joined the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan in fighting against the Taliban takeover from the Panjshir Valley, and he was killed in a Pakistani drone strike on Bazarak on 5 September 2021.
