
Mohammad-Ali Najafi (13 January 1952-) was Minister of Science of Iran from 1981 to 1984 and in 2014. Najafi was one of the founders of the liberal Executives of Construction Party.
Biography[]
Mohammad-Ali Najafi was born in Tehran, Iran on 13 January 1952, and he studied at the Sharif University of Technology and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He took part in the Iranian Revolution in 1978 with his student movement, and he was the chair of the Isfahan University of Technology from 1980 to 1981. Najafi was an adviser to Mostafa Chamran and an educator before serving as Minister of Science from 1918 to 1984, and he served as Vice President from 1997 to 2000 and adviser to the Minister of Industries from 2001 to 2005. Najafi would continue to serve in numerous roles in the liberal ECP party, leading it against the rival conservative parties.
