Mohab Mamish

Mohab Mamish (6 August 1948-) was Commander of the Egyptian Navy from 27 September 2007 to August 2012, succeeding Tamer Abdel Alim and preceding Osama El-Gendi.

Biography[]

Mohab Mamish was born in Alexandria, Egypt in 1948, and he joined the Egyptian Navy in 1969 and served as an anti-submarine specialist during the Yom Kippur War of 1973. He received military training in Britain, America, the United Arab Emirates, China, Greece, and France before serving as commander of the Navy from 2007 to 2012 and as a member of the junta that governed Egypt after the Egyptian Revolution of 2011.
