Mladen Ivanic

Mladen Ivanic (born 16 September 1958) was President of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 17 November 2014 to 17 July 2015 (succeeding Bakir Izetbegovic and preceding Dragan Covic) and from 17 November 2016 to 17 July 2017 (succeeding Izetbegovic and preceding Covic).

Biography[]

Mladen Ivanic was born in Sanski Most, SR Bosnia and Herzegovina, SFR Yugoslavia in 1958 to a family of Bosnian Serbs, and he worked as a journalist and university lecturer before being elected to the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1988. From 16 January 2001 to 17 January 2003, he was Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, succeeding Milorad Dodik and preceding Dragan Mikerevic, and he served as Foreign Minister from 2003 to 2007, Speaker of the House of Peoples from 2008 to 2009, and as the Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2014. As a member of the Party of Democratic Progress, he served as President of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2014 to 2015 and from 2016 to 2017.
