The Mizos are one of the many Chin tribes but they are the only Chin groups living in India and they are the only Chin tribe to have their own official state. Most Mizos live in India and in the United States, while some live in Australia, Bangladesh, and Thailand. By 2021, many of their other Chin tribes such as Hakha Chin, Falam Chin, and Zopai Chin are seeking the Mizo's help due to the cruelty and coup of the Burmese military. It is believed that the Mizo Chin originated from South China and settled in Myanmar and were later forced to flee to India. The main religion of the Mizo Chin tribes is Christianity, they are one of the three ethnic groups to be Christian majority in India. About 98% of the Mizos are Christians, most of whom are Presbyterian Protestants or Baptist Protestants, while 1% are Jewish and while the other 1% are Animist. The conversion of the Mizos began in the mid-1800s when white Baptists and Presbyterians came to Mynamar and taught the Mizos Christianity, they succeeded and converted almost the whole population of the Mizo Chins. The Mizos still kept their Christian faith even when they were forced to flee to India which is a Hindu majority country. Before Christianity, the whole population of the Mizos and other Chin tribes were Aminist and practice cannibalism or head-hunting, they believed that every human beings, creatures, and plants had spirits and they worshipped many gods and goddesses, but now most Mizos reject that faith and follow the Christian or Jewish faith. Most Mizos speak the language Mizo while some speak Hindi, Hakha, Falam, Arabic, or Zopai.
