Mirko Sarovic

Mirko Sarovic (born 16 September 1956) was President of the Republika Srpska from March 1999 to 28 November 2002, succeeding Nikola Poplasen and preceding Dragan Cavic, and President of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 28 October 2002 to 2 April 2003, succeeding Beriz Belkic and preceding Dragan Covic.

Biography[]

Mirko Sarovic was born in Rogativa, SR Bosnia and Herzegovina, Yugoslavia in 1956, and he worked at the Famos automobile company in Sarajevo during the 1980s. He entered politics before the Bosnian War, and he became President of the Republika Srpska in 1999, serving until 2002. From 2002 to 2003, he was a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and he served as Trade Minister from 2015.
