Mir Hasan Vazirov

Mir Hasan Vazirov (1889-20 September 1918) was a Bolshevik revolutionary and one of the "26 Baku Commissars".

Biography[]

Mir Hasan Vazirov was born in 1889 in Shusha, Nagorno-Karabakh, Russian Empire. He joined the Socialist Revolutionary Party while he was in school, and he was involved in the Bolshevik revolutionary campaign in the Caucasus during the Russian Civil War. In 1918, he became one of the "26 Baku Commissars", helping in governing the city after it was taken over from Azerbaijan. Vazirov attempted to flee the city as it was retaken by the Ottoman Empire, but he was captured by the White Army and executed by firing squad.
