Minamoto Tameyoshi (1096-17 August 1156) was the daimyo of the Minamoto clan. The grandson of Minamoto Yoshiie and grandfather of Minamoto Yoritomo, he was a liaison between two great leaders of the Minamoto.
Biography[]
Tameyoshi was born to the proud Minamoto warrior family, and was a grandson of brave warrior Minamoto Yoshiie. In 1113 he helped the Enryakuji of Yamashiro Province in fighting the Miidera warrior monks, and later supported Emperor Sutoku in the Hogen Rebellion against Go-Shirakawa. However, his son Minamoto Yoshitomo and the Taira supported Go-Shirakawa and when Tameyoshi fell into the custody of his son, he was beheaded.
