Mimi Webb Miller (1949-) was an American rancher and the girlfriend of Mexican drug trafficker Pablo Acosta Villarreal.
Biography[]
Mimi Webb Miller was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, the niece of US Senator John Tower through marriage. Her father was a landscape architect who hired several Mexican workers, and she grew to be fascinated with Mexican culture. During the 1970s, she worked in a Houston art gallery and became an artist in Lajitas, Mexico, laer buying a 3,000-acre plot of land in Mexico, "Rancho El Milagro". She raised goats, cattle, corn, and apples, bathing in the property's waterfall, its only running water.
Life with Pablo Acosta[]
Miller later organized horseback riding trips through Mexico with the help of drug trafficker Pablo Acosta Villarreal, meeting him through a mutual friend and becoming his lover in 1986. She became pregnant soon into her affair with Acosta, and she decided to attempt to convince Acosta to leave his life of crime and settle down. She lost her child when her neighbors from another ranch shot at her, causing her to fall from her horse and miscarry, and, while she convinced Acosta to do an interview for the American news in an attempt to make him a potential informant for the US government, she failed to save him, as he was killed in the 1987 Santa Elena raid by Mexican soldiers and the FBI. Afterwards, the FBI helped her escape, as there was a price on her head for knowing too much about the Juarez Cartel. By 1991, she had started her own casting business, and she also opened a guesthouse and coffee shop in Terlingua, Texas, a town with a population of 58.
