Military Road is a major east-west road in Washington DC. The road was constructed by the Union Army during the American Civil War to connect military forts in Northwest Washington, and it served as a second crossing over Rock Creek. The road begins at the Maryland border in Friendship Heights and heads east through Chevy Chase before reaching Rock Creek Park and becoming a limited-access road.
