Biography[]

Miles McPherson was born in Queens, New York City, New York in 1960, and he played football with the San Diego Chargers from 1982 to 1985. He became a born-again Christian in 1984 after recovering from a drug addiction, and he founded the evangelical megachurch, Rock Church, in San Diego in 2000. He spoke at the 2008 Republican National Convention, and, in 2020, amid racial justice protests, he argued that there should be a "third way" between siding with protesters and siding with the police, claiming that there were more similarities than differences. McPherson also suggested that people watching the news should see the looters and rioters as fellow children of God rather than as criminals, and he supported "race consultations" over "race confrontations".
