Mil Group was an advisory unit of the US Army that advised the Colombian military on communist threats in the countryside during the Colombian conflict. Mil Group was based out of the American embassy in Bogota, and its operations were highly classified, as their Cold War operations in Colombia showed that the United States was backing dictatorships against peasant rebels such as M-19 and FARC. Mil Group was led by Colonel Patrick Wysession during the 1980s.
