Mikolaj Boltuc (21 December 1893-22 September 1939) was a Brigadier-General of the Polish Army during World War II. He was killed during the German invasion of Poland.
Biography[]
Mikolaj Boltuc was born on 21 December 1893 in Saint Petersburg, Russian Empire, the son of Russian general Ignacy Boltuc. Boltuc served in the Imperial Russian Army during World War I, and he fought for the White Army during the Russian Civil War before joining the Polish Army when Poland gained its independence in 1918. Boltuc fought in the Polish-Soviet War before rising through the general command ranks in the 1920s and 1930s, and he became an operation group commander under the Pomorze Army. He was killed by a German sniper at Lomianki while trying to enter Warsaw with some volunteers.
