Michael "Mikey Grab-Bag" Palmice (29 June 1961- April 1999) was the consigliere of the DiMeo crime family under Junior Soprano.
Biography[]
Michael Palmice was born in 1961 in Newark, New Jersey to a family of Italian descent. Since his childhood, his parents knew that he was a sociopath, and he later became a member of the DiMeo crime family of the American Mafia. Palmice served in Junior Soprano's crew as his driver and bodyguard, serving as a loyal soldier of the family. Palmice became Junior's right-hand man, and he developed a rivalry with Junior's nephew Tony Soprano. In 1998, as Junior contended for the title of boss after Jackie Aprile Sr. fell ill, Palmice was sent to whack Brendan Filone and to perform a mock execution on Christopher Moltisanti. Moltisanti was unable to kill Palmice, as he was a made man, but Moltisanti's uncle, Tony Soprano, beat Palmice with a staple gun in revenge for the hit and the mock execution.

Palmice was hated by the family's caporegimes as the result of his murder of Larry Barese's drug dealer Rusty Irish, who was thrown over a bridge on Junior's orders. Barese, Raymond Curto, and Jimmy Altieri complained to Tony Soprano about Palmice's behavior, and matters were complicated when Palmice twice attempted to kill Soprano (the first time led to Palmice executing the would-be assassin Donnie Paduana after he called off the hit, the second time resulting in the death of the hitman). Soprano personally executed Palmice's partner-in-crime Chucky Signore at the docks to prevent another hit from being placed on him, while he sent Paulie Gualtieri and Christopher Moltisanti to whack Palmice. They chased him into the forest as he was jogging, and he was shot near a small stream. Palmice attempted to blame Junior for the assassination attempts, but Moltisanti reminded Palmice of how he murdered his friend Filone. Gualtieri and Moltisanti proceeded to shoot Palmice several times, killing him.
