Michael "Mike Lips" Forelli (died 21 October 2001) was a high-ranking underboss of the Forelli crime family of New York City. He was assassinated by a car bomb after he finished lunch at Marco's Bistro in Brooklyn in 21st October 2001.

Biography[]

Michael Forelli was born to the Italian-American Forelli family In 1949, And he rose to a high rank in the Forelli crime family as an underboss. Forelli was nicknamed "Lips" due to his liking of the Lips 106 radio station, a pop station. He lived a luxurious lifestyle, frequenting Marco's Bistro and becoming an overweight man, but he fell into debt with Joey Leone of the Leone crime family.

In the 21st October 2001, Leone grew tired of Forelli's refusal to pay back his debts, and he decided to send his associate Claude Speed to assassinate Forelli at Marco's Bistro. Speed stole his car from the parking lot and rigged it with a bomb at 8-Ball's bomb shop, and he drove the car back into position, activating the bomb before he left. Forelli exited the restaurant shortly afterwards and entered the car, turning the engine on. This activated the car bomb, killing him and starting a war between the Forellis and Leones.
