
Miguel Barbero (1103-1159) was a commander of the Kingdom of Castile during the Spanish Reconquista.
Biography[]
Miguel Barbero was born in Soria in the Kingdom of Castile (present-day Province of Soria, Leon and Castile, Spain) in 1103 to a noble family. Barbero became a knight after inheriting his father's wealth, and became a subject of King Alfonso VI of Castile, serving under him. Barbero commanded the Castilians at the Battle of Siguenza in 1138, where he led a raid against the Muslims and defeated an army sent to stop him. Barbero died in 1159 in Toledo, the capital of Castile.
