Michelle Steel (born 21 June 1955) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-CA 48) from 3 January 2021, succeeding Harley Rouda.

Biography[]

Michelle Eunjoo Park was born in Seoul, South Korea on 21 June 1955, and she immigrated to the United States at a young age and served on various commissions in the George W. Bush administration, on the California Board of Equalization from 2007 to 2015, and on the Orange County Board of Supervisors from 2015 to 2021. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she opposed mandatory face masks in Orange County, voted against requiring face coverings for retail employees, opposed requirements for mask-wearing in public schools, and questioned the efficiency of wearing masks. In 2020, running as a Trumpist conservative, she was elected to the US House of Representatives amid a red wave.
