Michele Carascon (1724-1801) was the last Doge of Genoa, reigning from 1795 to 1797. In 1797 Napoleon Bonaparte invaded the Republic of Genoa to prevent a landing by forces from Great Britain and the Genoese were crushed. Carascon was deposed and was exiled to Florence.
