Biography[]
Michael Spilotro was born in Chicago, Illinois on 12 September 1944, the brother of Anthony Spilotro. Michael dropped out of school shortly after Anthony to follow in his brother's footsteps, and he was twice convicted of assault. From the 1950s to 1980s, he had a B-movie Hollywood career, but he joined his brother's "Hole in the Wall Gang" in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1976, carrying out high-end burglaries in the city. Michael was a promising mobster, but his brother's errors led to both of their downfalls.
On 14 June 1986, Anthony Spilotro arranged for a meeting with Frank Cullotta and several other Chicago Outfit mobsters (who had just been released on bail) in a cornfield in rural Morocco, Indiana. There, they greeted each other, but Anthony was restrained as several of the mobsters began to savagely beat Michael with baseball bats. They beat him until his entire body was bloody, and they threw him into a previously-dug grave. Anthony was then savagely beaten, but he remained conscious; the two brothers were then buried alive by the other mobsters. Michael was killed to prevent him from avenging his brother's inevitable downfall.
