
Michael Adebolajo (born 1985) was a Black British Muslim who was responsible for running over and stabbing/hacking Lee Rigby, a fusilier of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.
Biography[]
Michael Adebolaho was born in 1985 to a Nigerian family in the United Kingdom's capital of London (in the neighborhood of Lambeth, Central London). His family was Christian, but in 2003 he converted to Islam after being involved in a violent Islamist protest while a sociology student at the University of Greenwich, and he had links with radical Muslim group al-Muhajiroun. In 2010 he was arrested in Kenya for planning to be trained by al-Shabaab, and he was deported to the UK. No charges were pressed against him, and he returned to his Islamist views. On 22 May 2013 he and Michael Adebowale ran down Royal Regiment of Fusiliers soldier Lee Rigby and the two used knives and a cleaver to stab and hack him to death. Both were wounded charging at British police responding to the attack, and they were imprisoned. On 26 February 2014 Adebolajo was sentenced to life imprisonment.
