The Mikoyan MiG-29 Fulcrum is an air superiority fighter built in 1977 by the Soviet Union as the answer to the United States-built F-15 Eagle and F-16 Flying Falcon. The MiG-29 was supplied to members of the Eastern Bloc and allies of the USSR, and saw service in the Iran-Iraq War on both sides of the conflict; Iraq bought planes and guns from the USSR while Iran used captured Iraqi planes.
