Merrion Square Park

Merrion Square is a Georgian garden square on the south side of Dublin, Ireland. Laid out in 1762 for the estate of Richard FitzWilliam, 7th Viscount FitzWilliam, the park's gardens were created in 1792, and the surrounding houses were complete by the beginning of the 19th century. The square became home to aristocrats, bishops, and the wealthy, and the 1950s saw these residential houses be transformed into office accommodations. Authors Oscar Wilde and W.B. Yeats and politician Daniel O'Connell once lived along the square.
