Wyatt Merle Kilgore (9 August 1934-6 February 2005) was an American singer, songwriter, and manager. Born in Chickasha, Oklahoma, he was raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, and he befriended Hank Williams while working as his guitar carrier at the Louisiana Hayride. He became a country music recording artist, co-wrote "Ring of Fire" with June Carter Cash (his distant cousin), stood as Johnny Cash's best man at his wedding to Carter, and became a prominent member of the Paris, Tennessee business community during the 1980s. He died in 2005.
