Merle "Trigger" Jackson was a Dixie Mafia associate who led a large prostitution operation in Algiers, New Orleans.
Biography[]
Merle Jackson was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1941 to a Dixie family, and he became a member of the Dixie Mafia gang. Jackson became the racket boss of a prostitution ring in Algiers, and he treated his African-American prostitutes poorly, giving them drugs before selling their services to white customers. He was the first racket boss that Lincoln Clay decided to take out, using the assistance of Charles Laveau to free his "thoroughbred" prostitutes from Perla's Nightclub and kill his pimps Gert Delong and Rodger Desaulniers. Jackson headed to his brothel after learning of these incidents, and Clay shot his way through his club before finding him in his office and stabbing him in the heart with a knife.
