Menas general

Menas (602-635) was a Byzantine general who commanded an army in Tripolitania during the 630s AD. In 635, he was transferred to Syria amid Heraclius' counteroffensive against the Rashidun Caliphate, recapturing Homs in the process. However, he was then besieged in the city by Abu Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah's army and slain in a last stand at the end of the battle.
