Mecca is the holiest city in Islam and is located in Saudi Arabia. In 570 CE, Muhammad was born here to Amina and Abdullah. When Muhammad became a prophet, the Meccan nobility persecuted him and his followers for going against their idol-worship. Eventually, Muhammad and his followers escaped to Medina and him and his followers fought a series of battles against the Meccans. Muhammad and his followers returned to Mecca in 630 AD.
