Mayor Ezzelino of Jesolo (12 December 734-) was the Spymaster of Venice.
Biography[]
Ezzelino was born on 12 December 734 to a lowborn family of Catholic Italians in the Republic of Venice, and he became the mayor of Jesolo to the north of the city of Venice. Ezzelino was appointed as the spymaster for Doge Maurizio of Venice due to his intrigue skills. In 770 he proved his loyalty to the House of Galbaio when he was recruited into the Galbaio family's plot to assassinate Doge Teodato of Venice, who took power after Maurizio's sudden death. In 771 he arranged for Doge Encagilio of Venice's assassination as well.
