Mayor Ahmad of Irbid (1240-) was a noble of the Ilkhanate.
Biography[]
Ahmad was born in 1240 to a family of Sunni Muslim Levantines, and he was invited to the 1264 Ilkhanate Grand Tournament by Hulegu Khan. He was crowned the winner of the grand tournament, and Hulegu rewarded him by giving him the city of Irbid as a fief. On 28 May 1264 he converted to Orthodox Christianity.
