Maximilian von Heune (1891-) was a German aristocrat who lived in Bavaria during the Interwar period. Von Heune developed a reputation as a hedonistic playboy, and, in 1931, he initiated short-lived sexual relationships with the American cabaret singer Sally Bowles and the English linguist Brian Roberts after inviting them to his countryside estate. Von Heune was naive about the rise of Nazism, seeing the Nazis as a useful tool in suppressing the German Communist Party, and believing that the German government could control the Nazis.
